Bio

I am a friendly and experienced flutist based in north London.  With a focus on jazz, funk and blues, on concert, alto and bass flute.  I hold a performance ATCL (distinction) and LTCL diploma in jazz flute from Trinity College.  I am currently studying an extended Masters’ degree in jazz at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.  I perform as part of the 3 a.m. jazz trio and independently.  Recent venues include: the Ned, the Spice of Life, Off the Cuff, the Queensbury, the Queen’s Head Islington, Mascara Bar.  Recent festivals include the Leytonstone Music Festival and the Urban Food Festival in Shoreditch.

I teach flute to children (from age 8) and adults.  I make lessons fun and interesting – introducing my students to the different types of flute-playing from round the world. I tailor my lessons creatively to the particular student, their background and interests, while developing their musicianship to a high level.

I am leading the Girl Plays Jazz Project – a new project in North London to provide jazz education to girls aged between 8 and 12 years old – to introduce them to jazz and develop their skills as improvising musicians.  Please see http://www.girlplaysjazz.org.uk for more details.
