So happy to lead the Canonbury Primary School Jazz Ensemble at King’s Place on 7th February as part of the Music for Youth’s first regional festival. The musicians played so well – super proud of them.
Such a great way to end 2019 as part of the EFG London Jazz Festival. Delighted to have the chance to play with She is Jazz in the Southbank as part of the Festival, and then lead my workshop and performance with Girl Plays Jazz Project at Karamel, the Vortex and at Poplar Union in the Jazz Festival.
Great weekend this weekend, with a jazz workshops for the kids attending the festival, followed by Felicidade performance.
My interview with great Cuban flute player Joaquin Oliveros is published in Flute Journal here:
I am a big fan of the flutist and composer Eddie Parker, and so it was a real treat to go to the concert at the Purcell Room at the South Bank to listen to the music and write a review of the gig for Flute Journal. And to hear not one, not two, not three, but four world class flutists in one ensemble was an absolute pleasure. Here is my review:
It was an absolute privilege to sit in with the gypsy jazz band La Bouche Manouche featuring the sublime voice of Irene Serra at the London home of gypsy jazz Le QuecumBar last Sunday.
Really looking forward to playing with the flutes in this magnificently fantastic Cuban big band directed by Sara McGuiness. 12.30 outside St Luke’s as part of the Community Street Market. Come along!
